The Detroit Pistons have had their worst season in the history of the franchise a year ago, going 14-68 and missing the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season.

This is another story this year.

The pistons won their first place in the playoffs since 2019 with a 117-105 victory against the Raptors of Toronto on Friday. The trip to the playoffs has just been the third in Strait since 2010.

Cunningham has a reliable shooting option around him at Malik Beasley, who shoots three points at more than one clip of 42%. The team also added a veteran to Tobias Harris, who should take a certain credit for the reversal of the team.

It was a great year for the pistons, but it is difficult to imagine that they can get out of a difficult eastern conference.

Cleveland horsemen had a historically good season and seem ready for a NBA final cast behind Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland and the rest of their nucleus.

The Boston Celtics have had some hiccups throughout the year, but are still one of the best NBA teams and will seek to defend their championship.

It is also difficult to count the New York Knicks Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns as well as the Milwaukee Bucks with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.

Even if the pistons are not yet competitors in the final, they seem to be on the way after an exponential growth season. If Cunningham and the rest of the young Stars of Detroit continue to develop, it will not be surprising to see the pistons win a victory in the first round.
