In many ways, the change in America towards cultural opening around these subjects is a cause of celebration, said Christina Caron, a journalist who covers mental health for the office of the property of the New York Times. But the proliferation of online discourse around subjects such as trauma disorders and cognitive behavioral therapy can be interrupted: disinformation.
“It is difficult to know what is true,” said Ms. Caron.
In his new monthly chronicle, Psych 101Ms. Caron tries to fight against this uncertainty by unpacking subjects like What happens when your moral compass is compromised And how a simple technique known as cognitive mixture can help calm an occupied brain. She speaks with people who have experienced the symptoms she wrote on, as well as clinicians and researchers.
Ms. Caron is a former clinical research coordinator, she therefore knows the medical terminology of Weedy. But its objective is to provide readers with confidence health information – and approved – without the jargon which can sometimes support it.

Why did you want to start this column?
The idea is to examine the terms and tendencies of mental health which, in our view, deserve greater conversations.
