Unitedhealthcare appoints a new boss after the old CEO killed

United Holder appointed a new boss almost two months after his chief director, Brian Thompson, was shot in New York.

The veteran of the company Tim Noel will take care of the biggest health insurer in the United States, which has more than 50 million customers, at a critical time.

The murder of Mr. Thompson on December 4 in the center of Manhattan sparked a broad debate on the functioning of the American health system.

Many Americans, who pay more for health care than people from any other country, have expressed anger at what they consider an unjust treatment of insurance companies.

Mr. Noel “provides unrivaled experience to this role with a proven assessment and a strong commitment to improve the functioning of health care for consumers, doctors, employers, governments and our other partners,” said the company company by Unitedhealthcare Unitedsalth Group.

A manhunt followed for days when the police were working to identify who was responsible for the December murder, which occurred outside a Manhattan hotel where the CEO was staying.

After five days, Luigi Mangione26, was arrested in an McDonald’s restaurant in Pennsylvania after a worker called the police.

Mangione pleaded not guilty to accusations in murder. He faces 11 criminal charges, including murder as a act of terrorism.

In addition to accusations at the state level, he is also accused of federal offenses – national harassment and murder which could lead to a sentence of death.

Prosecutors allege that Mr. Mangione shot Mr. Thompson before launching.
