WASHINGTON – Treasury secretary Scott Bessent announced today the intention of President Trump to name Jonathan McKernan to serve as an undersecretary of domestic finance in the American Treasury Department.
McKernan was an advisor to the Treasury Department pending confirmation from the Senate to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Office. Meanwhile, McKernan has become an integral part of the secretary’s senior team. Its continuous service in Treasury will guarantee that its experience and expertise are better placed to advance the president’s first program in America.
McKernan previously sat on the board of directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and held management positions at the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the American Senate and the Treasury Department. Before his government service, McKernan was a private law firm focused on the banking and financial laws of consumers.
