Ulta Beauty, the largest cosmetics retailer in the United States, announced Thursday that it ended its partnership with Target. An announcement of the company says that brands have mutually agreed to end the Ulta Beauty at Target Shop-In-Shop Partnership which was launched in 2021.
The partnership has led Ulta to operate autonomous stores inside target locations in the United States and to offer products to sell on the Target website. Although a specific date has been announced for the closing of Ulta locations, Ulta said the agreement ends in August 2026.
Consumers will continue to win Ulta Beauty awards on Ulta beauty eligible for target purchases until the end of the partnership.

There are around 600 Ulta beauty stores inside the target locations. Stores offer certain cosmetic and beauty products that are also available in ULTA locations. Companies say they are “determined to provide transparent shopping experience and product availability until the end of the partnership”.
