During the last moments, the Russian media reported that President Vladimir Putin said Easter truce in Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelensky has not yet answered, but the Kremlin says it expects Ukraine to follow its example.
According to the reuters news agency, Russia should cease hostilities from 6:00 p.m. to local time (4:00 p.m. BST) until midnight, local time (10:00 p.m.) on Monday, April 21.
Nothing indicates if Putin’s Easter break will lead to negotiations over a longer period of peace.
This occurs after US President Donald Trump warned that the United States “will take a pass” on discussions on other discussions if Moscow or kyiv make the conclusion of a peace agreement difficult.
