The average house price in the UK reached £261,962 in April, up from £261,142 in March. But that’s before taking into account seasonal factors. After taking this into account, house prices are instead expected to fall by 0.4%. Nationwide notes that “the slowdown likely reflects ongoing affordability pressures, with long-term interest rates rising in recent months reversing the sharp decline seen earlier in the year.”
