UC, CSU must get up
For foreign students
Re: “Students protest as campuses of the University of California report visas revoked for around fifty international students” (April 9).
Putting international students at risk of expulsion due to invoked visas has been devastating. These students legally sought higher education and contributed to thousands of people to their universities, only for their administrations to provide minimal support in these difficult times. They were slow with their lukewarm statements and their minimum reverses against Donald Trump’s attack on students.
We must demand more of these CUs concerning the right of their students to freedom of expression, education and security on campus, in particular vulnerable populations.
By putting pressure on the Chancellors like Howard Gillman from UC Irvine and Julio Frenk of the UCLA, these students will be made safe. Students deserve this after obtaining a visa, accepted in competitive schools, paid high tuition fees and spent hours education.
Let us continue to put pressure on UC and CSU administrations to protect, defend and raise their immigrant students. Their education is also important.

We have to raise our
Voices to oppose Trump
Vox Populi is Latin for “the voice of the people”. It is clear that the voice of people, that is to say the collective resistance, “Posshack”, is the only thing that will stop the revenge agenda of Donald Trump.
As has been clearly shown, there have been daily rallies and protests against its policies since its inauguration. The latest example is the “violence” rallies of April 5 at the national level that occurred in the 50 states and attracted millions of Americans. We, the people, are the only ones to be able to save our democracy, not a divine intervention, certainly not the invertebrate republicans in the congress, nor the Democrats without a solid message.
We now live under a dictator according to his plethora of decrees. We, the people, must have courage, strength and endurance to maintain resistance constantly if we want to continue to live in a free and autonomous country.

Memory of soldiers
In the midst of the war of the “liberation day” of President Trump, the stock market crash of 6 billions of dollars, the dismissal of intelligence personnel at the request of a right -wing activist and the use of a commercial application to discuss war plans, another element escaped the titles.
After a search for several days, the bodies of four army soldiers who disappeared in a NATO training exercise were recovered in Lithuania. While their audiences crossed the Lithuanian capital, the streets were lined with civilians, a number in tears, holding American and Lithuanian flags. Rows of Lithuanian troops praised our soldiers when they started their last return trip.
Despite the troubles created by the Trump administration with European allies, respect remains for the United States and the sacrifices of our soldiers.
And where was President Trump for the transfer worthy of the draped coffins of the flag? He chose to join a Liv golf tournament supported by Saudi, showing a very different type of engagement.

Voter identification rules are
ineffective, useless
Re: “Save Act claims to solve a big problem that does not exist” (page A8, April 6).
The voting identifiers adopted in many states are so useless. We already have an identity document on each ballot. This is called your signature.
The signature is verified by the voter registrar. When people register to vote, they swear that they are citizens, live at their address and are good. The signature makes the document legal.
Why do we need more identification laws? The laws will not make people more trustworthy.
