The new default office background for Ubuntu 25.10 “Quokka”, as well as the official mascot, were shared on Launchpad.
All users who install or upgrade to Ubuntu 25.10 will be greeted by this new background, which sports the Mascot of the Codename version (A Quokka) at the top of a purple gradient. This continues the tradition of distribution to give each release its own unique desktop wallpaper.
Visually, Ubuntu 25.10 wallpaper is eating the thematic model used since Ubuntu 17.10.
We obtain an animal mascot with art line (generally geometric lines or shaped from arcs, this time the latter) set in the middle of a purple gradient background, flanked by 3D angular forms to help create a feeling of depth and dimension.
