Tyrese Haliburton will not have his father present for the Indiana eliminatory series race in the foreseeable future. John Haliburtion will not attend the pacers qualifying matches after his verbal altering with Bucks star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, at the end of match 5, according to Shams Charania d’Espn.
Tyrese nailed a prolonged winning shot to push the Pacers in front of the Bucks and in the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference on Tuesday evening. As the horn sounds, John Haliburton was seen walking on the ground and taunt antetokounmpo.
After having conversations with the Pacers’ front office, John Haliburton will not attend the house or on the road games, a team spokesman told Charania.
During his post-match media availability, Tyrese admitted that he did not believe that his father was “in the right” with regard to the situation.
Antitokounmpo explained how the situation took place by saying that John was approaching him with a towel which had Tyrese’s face. John then started to shout “that’s what we do! This is what we f — in ‘do!” in Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo admitted that he had no problem with them celebrating the great victory of the Pacers, but John could have act more humble.
“I am happy for him and I am happy for his son. This is what you are supposed to feel,” said Antetokounmpo. “But come to me and disrespect myself and curse myself. I think it’s totally unacceptable. Totally unacceptable.”
Antetokounmpo said he thought the situation between him and the Haliburton family was smoothed.
The Pacers should face Cleveland horsemen in the second round of the NBA qualifiers after sending the Bucks.
