The Indiana Pacers have been a victory to reach their first NBA final since 2000.
After spending an advance of 20 points to lose match 3, the Pacers responded with a 130-121 victory against the New York Knicks on Tuesday to take a 3-1 lead behind an exceptional evening of Tyrese Haliburton. They will have the chance to close things in New York on Thursday.
New York played well while Jalen Brunson scored 31 and Karl-Anthony Towns lost 24, putting pressure on Indiana late, but it was not enough in one of the best nights in Haliburton’s career.
Haliburton, who was named the most surf In the NBA by his peers before the playoffs, continued to show that if anything, he is underestimated. The star leader almost had a triple-double at the end of the first half and finished with 32 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds. In addition, Haliburton did not turn the ball on once.
He is the only player in the history of the Pacers to have several triple playoffs. He is also the third player in NBA history to have 30 points, 15 assists and 10 boards in a match.
Fans were delighted by Haliburton’s electric performance.
Haliburton was the star of the night, but there were big games around Indiana. Pascal Siakam lost 30 points while Bennedict Mathurin posted 20 points in just 12 minutes of the bench. Aaron Nesmith added 16 points while playing physical defense and clearly in the process of making a rattling of Brunson sometimes.
The Knicks seemed to have the momentum before match 4 after the way things ended in match 3, but the Pacers quickly resumed momentum on Tuesday. Now Indiana is about to return to the final.
