Thursday morning, two teenagers were slaughtered near James Monroe high school after being approached by five suspects at a bus stop, police announced.
The shooting prompted the North Hills campus to block themselves while the Los Angeles police responded on the scene.
The shooting was reported at 9:30 am to a bus stop near Nordhoff Street and Orion Avenue, where two boys, aged 15 to 16, were waiting for a bus, said LAPD officer Drake Madison.
The two victims were approached by five suspects and slaughtered, said Madison.
The suspects were seen fleeing west of the scene, while the victims fled to the east.
The two teenagers were taken to a neighboring hospital and are stable, said Madison.
The victims did not cooperate in the investigation, he said, and a description of the suspects was not available.
Los Angeles Unified School District managers sent an alert to parents informing them of locking, which has since been lifted.
“The Los Angeles school police were called to our campus after people outside campuses were injured,” said the alert. “Our campus is safe and open to teaching.”
