The first shooting occurred around midnight in the area of East Colfax Avenue and Oswego Street, the Aurora Police Department said on Twitter. An 18-year-old pedestrian was shot in the lower back by someone in a passing vehicle. The victim arrived at the hospital independently without transport by an ambulance.
In the second incident, at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a hospital following a report of a man who had been shot, police said. The victim, described as “uncooperative with the police”, was shot in the arm.
Police determined he was in a car with several people when he was shot at an unknown location. He was taken to the hospital, dropped off and the other people left the scene. A car with “several bullet holes” was found in the hospital parking lot and impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police have not released information about suspects in either incident.
