Two Premier League players arrested for rape: Football stars, both aged 19, are questioned by detectives who raided the team’s stadium after an alleged offense was reported to police .

Two Premier League footballers have been arrested after a rape was reported to police.

The two unnamed footballers belong to the same club and were arrested over the weekend after the alleged offense was reported to police, The Sun reported.

A 19-year-old player was reportedly questioned by police on suspicion of assault and complicity to rape, before being formally arrested. He was questioned by detectives under caution after spending a night in cells.

The other player, also aged 19, was arrested the next day and questioned by police on suspicion of rape.

Both players were reportedly released on bail pending further investigations, the newspaper said.

A police spokesperson told The Sun: “Officers arrested two men following a report of a rape.

“A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and complicity to rape. A second 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.

“Both men have since been released on police bail.”

A source also told The Sun that police arrived at the stadium and spoke to one of the players in “a private room inside the ground”.

They added that he left the club with “another individual” and was formally arrested later that night.

A club spokesperson told The Sun: “As the matter is now in the hands of the police, the football club will make no further comment at this stage.”
