Two people fracture their ankles after jumping from Toquerville Falls

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Two people were taken to the hospital with broken ankles after jumping from Toquerville Falls in Washington County on Saturday, according to Washington County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue.

“Our search and rescue team, in conjunction with Hurricane Valley Fire medical units, responded to Toquerville Falls yesterday to assist two men who had jumped from the falls into the pool below and suffered ankle injuries.” , indicates a message from WCSAR.

One was reportedly taken in a jeep before being transported to hospital by ambulance, while the other was transported by Life Flight to the hospital.

“Please avoid jumping off waterfalls, especially if you are unsure of the depth of the water below,” WCSAR officials said. “As the weather gets warmer each year, we receive too many rescue calls in Toquerville and Gunlock Falls for this same type of incident.”
