Two dozen people saved themselves during the heat wave Socal Record

More than two dozen people were saved on Saturday during a record heat wave while temperatures rose in the 90s in certain parts of southern California.

In the County of Orange, at least 15 people were saved for problems related to heat throughout the day, according to captain of the Orange County Fire Authority Thanh Nguyen.

This included a group of 11 people in distress who were saved from one of the trails on the coast unheed of Newport, said Nguyen. Two were transported to a local hospital, five were assessed but refused additional aid, and four heat exhaustion have known.

In Wilderness Aliso and Wood Canyons park in the hills of San Joaquin, four hikers were rescued while the temperature increased to 96 degrees. Three of the hikers were affected by heat, said Nguyen, one of which was transported by plane in the region.

“Unless you train for heat and this difficult terrain, we strongly encourage everyone to wait for him to cool down,” said Nguyen.

Another woman affected by the heat was saved in Anaheim near the 91 motorway. The firefighters also saved a woman from the Crystal Cove state park in Newport Beach, Nguyen told. It was not clear if it had also been affected by high temperatures.

In the county of Riverside, nine people were saved in heat -related incidents.

The rescues took place in Temecula, Palm Desert, Jurupa Valley, Moreno Valley, the Quinta and in the unheeded zone in Lac Elsinore Society, according to the County / Riverside County Fire Service. A dehydrated hiker was rescued at Big Bear Canyon Loop and Ortega Highway on Saturday afternoon while the temperature reached 99 degrees. The hiker was transported by plane in the region, according to officials, and transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

In Los Angeles, a hiker who suffered from heat exhaustion was transported by Hollywood Hills plane on Saturday morning, according to the Los Angeles fire service.

Griffith Park Rangers informed the hiker’s law enforcement – a 55 -year -old woman – near the Cahuenga peak path between the Hollywood panel and wisdom. The woman was transported to a local hospital after paramedical paramedics evaluated her weakness, said LAFD public service officer Lyndsey Lantz.

The heat wave is expected to dive on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service, and give way to May Gray early next week.
