Two sheriff deputies were put on administrative leave after an alleged domestic incident in a restaurant in Camillo last month, the Sheriff’s office in the county of Ventura announced on Wednesday.
Dylan Davis, 33, and Anthony Malagon, 27, were involved in a domestic incident on March 30 in El Rey Cantina, said the sheriff’s office. A security guard who tried to intervene with injuries and was treated in a hospital.
A press release from the Sheriff’s Office did not offer more details.
Davis and Malagon were arrested for suspicion of crimes and filed a deposit. Both are on administrative leave.
Davis is expected to be charged with five heads of offense, battery causing serious injuries, the use of force likely to cause significant injuries, inflicting bodily injuries on a spouse and criminal threats.
Malagone faces two battery charges causing serious injuries and the use of force likely to cause significant injuries. The two deputies must appear in court on May 28, according to the judicial archives.
“I would like to provide the public and our community that the sheriff’s office takes this question very seriously,” said Sheriff Jim Fryhoff in a press release. “We hold our deputies to the highest driving standards; Any violation of these standards will be approached appropriately, without hesitation … because this is what our community and our agency expect and deserve. ”
The Sheriff’s Crimes Office continues an investigation into the incident. An internal investigation is also underway to determine whether Davis or Malagon violated the policy of the department.
It was not immediately clear how long the deputies worked together, nor the nature of their employment relationship.
