The “Empyrean” series by Rebecca Yarros on the Dragon Violet Sorrengail rider has never been so popular.
When “Onyx Storm”, the third book in the Romantasy series, was released on January 21, it became the best -selling adult novel in 20 years, the New York Times reported.
The first and second books in the series, “Fourth Wing” and “Iron Flame”, sat right behind “Onyx Storm” on the list of bestsellers after its release.
Yarros takes a break before writing the fourth book in the series, but in the meantime, progress is underway on the adaptation of the series of “Fourth Wing”.

The “fourth wing” becomes a television program
In October 2023, Deadline announced that the Amazon MGM studios and the aberrant company of Michael B. Jordan developed the “fourth wing” in a series of privileged videos. Yarros is also an executive producer of the show.
The aberrant company produced “Creed III” by Jordan and develops a list of other series and films in addition to the “fourth wing”.
In July 2024, Outlative Society announced that it had hired Moira Walley-Canadkett as a show’s showrunner. Walley-Canadkett won three Emmy Awards for his work as a writer and producer on “Breaking Bad”, and she then created “Anne with an E.”

In February, the aberrant company had not announced the casting or an release date for the series.
Deadline also reported in October 2023 that Amazon MGM Studios had bought the rights of the whole series of books “Empyrean”. In a January interview with Variety, Yarros said that she had shared “the five-pounds arc” for the “Empyrean” series with Amazon and Walley-Canadkett.
“They have the arc of five pounds and the big general points of what is happening between each book, but they do not have the details between Book 4 and Book 5, because I am preparing to go to my plan Crazy conspiracy and perform each event that occurs in each book so that I make sure that I am in my two books there, “she told Variety.

Although the details on the series are limited, Yarros made some comments on the program while promoting “Onyx Storm”.
Speaking during a commitment on January 24 in New York, Yarros told fans that she had read the pilot of the program “Fourth Wing” – and that I loved.

Yarros shared some reflections on the casting
