TV reporter goes viral for ‘most awesome live view’ ever from atop skateboard

TV reporters everywhere, take note. The bar has just been raised.

Victor Williams of Detroit’s WDIV-Local 4 visited the city’s new skatepark this week and did two things he’s very good at at the same time: reporting the news and skateboarding.

When a skatepark story emerged, Williams was the obvious choice to cover it, according to the station. He then coolly delivered his report on the free skateboarding lessons at the nearly completed Chandler Skatepark, while also performing his own suit-and-tie tricks.

Williams’ music video had been viewed more than 2.1 million times Thursday night.

Local and national reporters applauded Williams for the fatal blow. CNN correspondent Josh Campbell said, “There will never be another live shoot that can match this incredible.”

TVG actor and host Ken Rudolph said it was “the most impressive live action I have ever seen.”

And Chris Hayes of MSNBC pointed out that this is high risk and high reward.
