Tuesday, January 7 preemptions for The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital

DVR Alerts! The programming will be disrupted on Tuesday January 7 for some of our favorite soap operas, as media coverage will follow the funeral of the 39th President of the United States and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Jimmy Carter.

In the morning, on the East Coast, a ceremony will mark Carter’s final departure from the Carter Center in Atlanta. His family will then travel with his body to Washington, first bound for Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where they will arrive at 12:45 p.m. A procession will then take them to the U.S. Navy Memorial to recognize Carter’s military service. At 2 p.m., President Carter will be transferred to a horse-drawn military wagon as part of a procession to the U.S. Capitol in Washington. At the Capitol, Carter will lie in state, with a service scheduled for 3 p.m. for lawmakers to pay their respects. Media coverage throughout the events will interrupt scheduled programming.

We will update the information as soon as we become aware of any changes, but currently we know the following:

The Young and the Restless

Depending on the time, some broadcasts of The Young and the Restless could be interrupted to cover President Carter’s arrival at the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol building.
