“This decision is launching a key in the work of the global economy,” said the post. “It would have been intelligent if the EU commission had initiated a reduction in higher European rates in advance.
The European legislator of the Parliament Auke Zijlstra, member of the far-right party of the Netherlands, blamed the EU for the dispute.
In an article on X, it argued that it was an “uncomfortable truth” that the EU takes prices on the goods entering the block and declared that free trade was an illusion because Europe applied “general import prices for the outside world … hypocrisy is a word of European origin”.
For its part, the National Rally of France, which currently concentrates most of its public declarations on the condemnation for the diversion of Party attacks of the Party, the Marine Le Pen, suggested that Trump’s prices were not particularly new.
“Mr. Obama, who seemed to be a nice person, used against the American extraterritorial laws of France for example by extorting 10 billion euros to (French bank) BNP Paribas,” said the legislator Jean-Philippe Tangangue Tanguy.
Tanguy said it was important that Europe responds with a targeted response, but said that the commission would be “stupid” to react to the dispute by imposing prices on American Bourbon as in 2017.
“The European Union, we must admit, is stupid in most of the measures it adopts,” he added.
