Trump’s lawyers file another appeal in hush money case as former prez tries to delay trial

Donald Trump filed another appeal in a criminal “silence” case as part of his continued efforts to try to delay the trial on Monday.

The former president is seeking to overturn Judge Juan Merchan’s ruling that he is not immune from criminal charges on the grounds of presidential immunity, according to a CNN report.

The embattled real estate mogul is also trying to overturn Merchan’s decision rejecting Trump’s request that the lawyer recuse himself from the case.

Trump’s lawyers argued in court papers Wednesday that Merchan did not have the authority to make prior decisions and are asking that an appeals court hear his arguments on the issue on May 6, the outlet reported.

The district attorney’s office declined to comment Wednesday.
