Trump’s former doctor gives health update after shooting, calls on Wray to doubt the bullet

A former White House physician released a letter Friday saying former President Trump is “recovering rapidly” from the July 13 shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania and that there is “absolutely no evidence” he was hit by “anything other than a bullet.”

Rep. Ronny Jackson, a Texas Republican who challenged FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony earlier this week, said: “I want to reassure the American people and the rest of the world that President Trump is doing extremely well.”

Jackson, who is Trump’s former physician, said: “I have continued to monitor his health and well-being, in conjunction with his primary care physician, since the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on the evening of July 13.

“The would-be assassin fired several shots at relatively close range using a high-caliber rifle, one of which struck the former president, and now Republican presidential candidate, in the right ear,” Jackson continued.

“In the congressional hearing two days ago, FBI Director Christopher Wray suggested that it could have been a bullet, shrapnel, or glass. There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet,” he added. “Congress should correct the record, as the hospital and I have confirmed. Director Wray is wrong, and it is inappropriate to suggest otherwise.”

“As a former White House physician for 14 years, having served through three presidential administrations, and having been the physician-designate for both President Obama and President Trump, I fully understand the global significance of this assassination attempt against the former president and current Republican presidential nominee,” Jackson added.

“So I want to reassure the American people and the world that President Trump is doing extremely well,” Jackson concluded. “He is recovering rapidly from the gunshot wound to his right ear. I will remain available to assist President Trump and his personal physician in any way they deem appropriate, and will provide updates as needed and with President Trump’s permission.”

In an interview with FOX Business’ “Kudlow” Thursday, Jackson said it was “absolutely ridiculous” for Wray to suggest that Trump might not have been hit by a bullet.

“It undermines the credibility of this man, who spent years using the FBI and the Justice Department as weapons against the president,” Jackson said. “It was a bullet, I looked at it. There was a bullet mark.”

Jackson also welcomed the creation of a bipartisan task force in the House of Representatives to investigate the attempted assassination of Trump.

“We have no confidence in the number one law enforcement agency in the country. And if Wray is going to make those statements, he better have some evidence to back up what he’s talking about,” Jackson said. “There was no broken glass on the teleprompters or anything.”

The FBI told Fox News Digital on Thursday that its priority is to learn more about the recluse. potential assassinThomas Matthew Crooks, 20, and his mobile.

“Since the day of the attack, the FBI has been consistent and clear that the shooting was an attempt to assassinate former President Trump that resulted in his injury, the death of a heroic father, and the injuries of several other victims,” a spokesperson said.

“FBI Director Wray testified extensively before Congress on Wednesday about the FBI’s investigation. This was a heinous attack, and the FBI is devoting enormous resources to learning more about the shooter and what led to his violent act.”

Fox News Digital said the FBI’s shooting reconstruction team is still examining evidence at the scene, including recovered bullet fragments.
