Trump’s advantage with white voters is a ‘worrying sign for Harris’

CNN political director David Chalian said on “CNN News Central” Wednesday that former President Donald Trump’s advantage with white male voters was a “worrying sign” for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Chalian said: “Among likely female voters in those states, you see Harris has a 17 percentage point lead, and in Wisconsin, 16 percent, and in Michigan. You see the gap closing here in Arizona. But the flip side of that is male voters. You saw Donald Trump’s very significant advantage with male voters. Eighteen points in Nevada, 15 points in Pennsylvania. That’s the gap when you talk about the gender gap, Harris, her advantage with women plus Trump’s advantage with men, and whoever wins that battle, whoever extends that advantage could have a lot to say in these key states.”

He added: “If you look at white voters without a college degree, that’s obviously a core Trump constituency. You see he’s very strong in that group. You see that’s a sign of trouble for Harris. She also, in places like Georgia, is not very popular with white college-educated voters. She’s probably trying to catch up with white college-educated voters in those battlegrounds as well.”
