Trump, with Kid Rock, sign of the executive order targeting ticket tickets

President Donald Trump wants to target “unscrupulous intermediate men” who resell concert tickets to “huge markup”.

Trump, flanked by singer Kid Rock, signed an executive decree in the Oval Office Monday Lunci on “Exploitation Ticket Scaling” and promising to change the live entertainment industry in the United States.

The order indicates that it “would rigorously apply” the best law of 2016 on online ticket sales (bots), which prohibits the sale of tickets obtained by bypassing the purchase limits on online sites.

In the oval office, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, underlined the problem of people who use boots to buy concert tickets on large volumes and selling them during markups to make profits.

The 54 -year -old singer, wearing a loud patriotic red and blue outfit for the occasion, thanked Trump for putting the order in “Lightning Speed”.

“I know that many artists and many fans who love, like concerts and music will be very grateful,” he said.

The war for concert tickets

In recent years, the live entertainment industry has been struck by boots complaints that have removed huge amounts of highly sought -after tickets, leaving fans empty.

The avalanche of Bots buyers affected the ERA Tournée de Taylor Swift, which took place from March 2023 to December 2024. In 2022, Live Nation, which owned the Ticketmaster ticket platform, saw 14 million people trying to buy the prevented tickets of the tour, much more than the 1.5 million fans “verified” verified “should be in the line online waiting.

“We had 14 million people who struck the site, including bots – another story – which are not supposed to be there,” said Live Nation president Greg Maffei in CNBC in November 2022 while apologizing to fans who are unable to obtain tickets.

Ticketmaster then canceled its general sale of public tickets, saying that it had lacked tickets after the presale event, pulling the SWIFT fans base.

Admittedly, Trump’s new decree is not the first government effort that reprimands scams linked to concerts.

In February 2023, before the start of ticket sales for the world renaissance tour of Beyoncé, the Senate judicial committee tweeted, “We look, @totketmaster.”

In September 2023, the IRS presented a new law requiring ticketing sites such as Stobhub and Ticketmaster to hand over the sellers who earn more than $ 600.

Trump representatives did not respond to a request for comments from Business Insider.
