Trump watches fireworks alongside Melania at star-filled reception as inauguration weekend kicks off

He arrives in a hurry.

President-elect Donald Trump, alongside his wife Melania and other family members, watched fireworks light up the sky from the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., during a prestigious reception on Saturday preceding inauguration day.

The show began in front of the audience just before 10 p.m.

Around the same time, Trump’s Truth Social account exposed New York Attorney General Letitia James’ case against him.

“What is going on with this totally corrupt New York judge,” Trump said.

“He was replaced until the “bosses”, who have been chasing me for years, found out? New York courts must be investigated!

Shortly afterward, Trump released a nearly 15-minute video showing the future 47th president and first lady standing side by side on a balcony at his golf club and applauding the massive fireworks display.

Afterward, Trump performed one of his signature dance moves in front of the crowd.

The new commander in chief threw a party for 500 guests, including cabinet nominees Pete Hegseth and Lee Zeldin.

Trump was also joined by his children Don Jr, Eric, Ivanka and Tiffany.

An Elvis impersonator performed for the group earlier in the night, Trump aide Margo Martin posted on X.

Trump and his family flew on an Air Force plane from West Palm Beach, Fla., to Washington earlier Saturday to kick off his inauguration weekend.

After the celebration, Trump will lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday.

He will later hold a “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” inside the Capital One Arena in downtown Washington.

On Monday, Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States at noon local time, expected to take place in the capital’s Rotunda for the first time in four decades due to extremely cold weather conditions.
