Trump warmly welcomes Netanyahu and his wife to Mar-a-Lago

Former President Donald Trump warmly greeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Friday afternoon at Mar-a-Lago, hugging his wife and kissing the Jewish leader.

Trump, 78, opened his arms to embrace the Netanyahus, saying: “Come in, nice to see you.”

The Republican candidate then kissed Sara Netanyahu on both cheeks and pulled the prime minister in for a firm handshake.

“This is the best dinner I’ve ever had,” Trump told the Jewish leader.

Trump and Netanyahu had a close relationship during the former president’s tenure in the White House. Their relationship hit some rocky ground after the prime minister congratulated President Biden on his 2020 election victory, prompting Trump to say “I haven’t spoken to him since” and “fuck him” at the time.

But since then, relations have calmed down.

Netanyahu specifically touted Trump’s support for Israel during his speech to Congress on Tuesday.

“I want to thank President Trump for his leadership in negotiating the historic Abraham Accords. Like Americans, Israelis were relieved that President Trump emerged unharmed from this despicable attack on him, a despicable attack on American democracy. There is no place for political violence in democracies,” the Israeli leader said.
