Trump visits New York construction site before Supreme Court determines whether he is safe from prosecution during secret trial

Donald Trump was greeted by hundreds of people chanting “USA, USA” as he met with union workers in New York on the morning of a monumental day in court.

The former president welcomed Teamsters to a construction site and signed MAGA hats as he prepared for another day of testimony in the Manhattan silent trial.

Meanwhile, Trump’s lawyers will head to the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., on Thursday morning to try to persuade the nine justices that he is safe from prosecution.

“This is all election interference,” Trump told the crowd about his multiple legal battles before lashing out at President Joe Biden.

“We are way ahead. He is the worst president in the history of our country. He makes Jimmy Carter look great.

Before heading to Manhattan Criminal Court Thursday morning, Donald Trump stopped to greet hundreds of union workers and sign MAGA hats.

“He is destroying our country. Our country is going to hell. He then insisted it would take “just one phone call” to Biden to close the border.

Supporters of the former president had already started to gather near the construction site at 4:30 a.m.

The crowd was decked out in iconic red MAGA hats and carried with them flags and banners, one of which read “Trump Won, Save America.”

Construction workers followed suit, also wearing MAGA hats, while others wore hard hats covered in Trump stickers.

As his motorcade pulled up outside the venue, the crowd began chattering, saying “USA! UNITED STATES! UNITED STATES!’ before clapping as Trump made his appearance.

The former president then spent the next 30 minutes signing hats and helmets, taking selfies with his supporters and workers who were anxiously waiting to meet him.

After the motorcade left the area, the large group quickly dispersed and the majority of workers gathered for hours returned to the site.

After his stop in Manhattan, he will head to the downtown courthouse, where he will sit and listen to the third day of testimony from former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker.

Just a few hundred miles south of New York, the Supreme Court on Thursday will consider arguments that could have huge implications for Trump’s federal criminal trials.

“Well, we have a big case today, the judge won’t let me go,” he lamented.

He added of the Supreme Court case: “A president must have immunity. If you don’t have immunity, you just have a ceremonial president.

Speaking to assembled media at the surprise ruling, Trump criticized rival President Joe Biden for his border policies and criticized the Manhattan trial judge for not allowing him to travel to the Supreme Court for his hearing immunity which will take place on the same day.

Trump says he shouldn’t be prosecuted for election fraud or crimes related to January 6 because he was president at the time.

Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday, Trump said Judge Juan Merchan “thinks he’s above the Supreme Court” after banning him from attending debates on presidential immunity.

He told the outlet: “Because he thinks he is above the Supreme Court, he is banning me from attending the presidential immunity hearing where some of the greatest jurists will argue this case – l ‘the most important case in many years at the Supreme Court.’

Judge Merchan is currently overseeing his secret trial and has implemented a silence order barring Trump from attacking the trial’s witnesses, jurors, prosecutors and a few others.

On Thursday morning, Trump told reporters he did not know whether he would pay fines if Merchan found out he had violated the silence order.

Trump said: “I have no idea. They immediately took my Constitution with a gag order. That’s all it is. This is election interference.

Judge Merchan must decide whether to punish Trump for alleged violations of the hush order, prosecutors want the former president fined $1,000 for ten alleged violations and warn him of one possible prison sentence if he continues.

Pecker finished his second day of testimony Wednesday by explaining how he coordinated with Michael Cohen when Playboy model Karen McDougal came forward with allegations of an affair.

The tabloid executive also detailed how it would “catch and kill” stories that could hurt Trump and embellish headlines for Republican rivals in the 2016 presidential race.

On Thursday, he is expected to continue testifying about McDougal and could also face questions about Stormy Daniels.

Trump’s meeting with union workers came less than 24 hours after his rival Biden won an endorsement from the Building Trades Union of North America.

Biden suggested his 2024 opponent deserved a punch and mocked his “bleached” hair.

He then sparked mockery by reading word for word from the teleprompter, saying: “Four more years. Break’.

The president will also be in New York on Thursday, traveling to Syracuse and Westchester, respectively, to tout his economic agenda and participate in a campaign event.
