Trump tops Biden in six swing states ahead of 2024 election: poll

Former President Donald Trump beats President Biden in six of seven key states for the 2024 election, a new poll shows, with voters concerned about the 81-year-old outgoing president’s mental health and his handling of the the economy and immigration issues. .

A Wall Street Journal survey released Wednesday found that Trump, 77, leads in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia by one to three percentage points, and in North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada by a margin of error greater than the poll’s margin of error.

Biden and the former president are also tied in a head-to-head matchup in the blue wall state of Wisconsin.

The seven battleground states account for 93 of the 270 Electoral College votes needed for either candidate to win in November.

When it comes to issues, a majority of voters said Trump was the best candidate to handle the economy and border security, with 54% and 52%, respectively, supporting the former president.

Just 34% said Biden was the best choice to manage the economy, and 32% favored the president on immigration issues.

Notably, an even smaller 28% said Biden had the “mental and physical fitness to be president.”

A majority of 48% of voters said Trump had the mental and physical abilities required.
