Washington (AP) – President Donald Trump will be held before a joint session of the congress on Tuesday to give accounting of his first turbulent weeks in office while a divided nation has trouble keeping the pace, some Americans fearing for the future of the country while others encourage him.
This will be the last important step in Trump’s total control of the national capital where the Chamber and the Senate led by the Republicans did not do much to restrict the president while he and his allies work to reduce the size of the federal government and redo the place of America in the world. With a close grip on his party, Trump was embarked on taking radical measures after overcoming dismissal and criminal proceedings.
The White House said that Trump’s theme would be the “renewal of the American dream”, and he had to exhibit his achievements since his return to the White House, as well as to call on Congress to provide more money to finance his repression of aggressive immigration.
“This is an opportunity for President Trump, as he alone can, to define the last month of records and records, records and unprecedented,” said principal advisor Stephen Miller.
The Democrats, many of whom have remained away from the inauguration of Trump in January, largely burst the calls to boycott when they find it difficult to find an effective counter-president to the president.
Instead, they have chosen to highlight the impact of Trump’s actions by inviting federal workers dismissed as guests, including a veteran disabled from Arizona, a Maryland health worker and a forest employee who worked on the prevention of forest fires in California. They also invited the guests who were injured by federal budget cuts high in Medicaid and other programs.
“Rather than focusing on the American issues of families and cooking paintings, President Trump’s first month focused on the tax discounts of billionaires, paid by the very people he promised to help,” said Senate Democrat, Chuck Schumer, in a statement.
Trump had also planned to use his speech to fight against his proposals to promote peace in Ukraine and the Middle East, where he allowed the Biden administration policies without ceremonies in just a few weeks. Trump on Monday ordered a freeze with Ukraine military aid in Ukraine, finishing years of American and solid support in the country to repel the invasion of Russia.
Trump tightened the screws after his explosive oval office meeting on Friday with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy while the American chief tries to put pressure on the former American ally to embrace peace talks with his invader.
In the Middle East, negotiations to extend a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have stalled, Trump floats the permanent displacement of Palestinian civilians in Gaza and an American “takeover” of the territory, tending partnerships with countries in the region and canceling long-standing American support for a solution to two states to end the Israeloid conflict.
The backdrop of Trump’s speech will also be a new economic uncertainty triggered after the president has opened the day by placing rigorous prices on imports from the country’s neighbors and the nearest business partners. A 25% tax on the goods of Canada and Mexico came into force just after midnight Tuesday – ostensibly to guarantee greater cooperation to combat illegal fentanyl traffic – triggering immediate reprisals and triggering fears of a broader trade war. Trump also raised prices on 20%China goods.
The whole scene of Trump’s speech was a contrast marked with his last speech on the state of the Union during his first mandate. Five years ago, Trump delivered his annual speech just after the Senate acquitted him during his first dismissal trial and before the Pandemic of Covid-19 had rooted in society. Tuesday’s address is not called the Union State because it is still in the first year of its new mandate.
The president planned to use his large -scale moment to put pressure on his efforts to reshape the country’s approach in terms of social problems, while he seeks to continue to eradicate diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the country and to cancel certain public dwellings for transgender people.
First lady Melania Trump, who was not held until Monday, has held her first solo public event since her return to power. She prompted the adoption of a bill to prevent porn revenge, and her guests in the room will understand Elliston Berry, 15, victim of an explicit image Deepfake sent to classmates.
Democrats’ guests also include at least one government watchdog rejected by Trump in his attempt to improve loyalists through the positions of influence.
Republican legislators are also trying to take stock with their guests.
Republican senator Joni Ernst of Iowa said that she would welcome Scott Root, father of the late Sarah Root, who died on the night of her 2016 university degree in a vehicle accident involving an immigrant who was in the country without legal authority.
Apart from Washington, the latest series of public demonstrations against Trump and his administration also took place on Tuesday. The coordinated groups have a loose manner planned demonstrations in the 50 states and the Colombia district timed at Trump’s address.
