The presumptive Republican presidential nominee will speak at the upcoming Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee, later this month, the conference organizer announced Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, speculation about a possible Trump appearance increased when speakers told CoinDesk that their slots had been reassigned to make room for what one email described as “a very special guest.”
Former President Trump will speak at 2 p.m. CT for 30 minutes on the final day of the conference, which runs July 25-27, a conference spokesperson told CoinDesk.
Since coming out in support of the Bitcoin industry at his NFT gala last spring, Trump has learned to use Bitcoin and cryptocurrency rhetoric. He has since integrated pro-Bitcoin policies into the core of the Republican Party platform, creating a sharp contrast with the Biden administration.
Trump’s upcoming speech is likely to further reinforce his self-image as a crypto advocate, despite his reluctance to embrace the technology during his first administration. His presence at the annual Bitcoin rally was widely expected.
