Trump suggests he could be three-term president if he wins the election

Former President Trump suggested Saturday that he could be considered for a three-term president if he achieves a victory next November.

Speaking to the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Saturday, Trump questioned whether he would be a two- or three-term president if he achieves a victory in the 2024 presidential election.

“You know, FDR was 16, almost 16, he served four terms. I don’t know, are we going to be considered three terms or two terms? he asked the crowd at the event Saturday.

“Are we three terms or two terms if we win? he added.

Someone could be heard shouting “three” as he continued to speak.

Trump has already said he will not seek a third term in the White House if he wins the November election. In an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press” last year, he said he would not seek a third term if elected again.

Presidents are limited to only two terms under the 22nd Amendment. Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected to four terms before the amendment was passed, but died early in his fourth term.

In his interview with Time magazine published last month, Trump also said he would retire after his second term and would not challenge the 22nd Amendment.

“I wouldn’t welcome a challenge. Not for me. I would not be in favor of it at all. I plan to serve four years and do a great job. And I want to bring our country back. I want to get it back on track,” he said.

“Our country is falling apart. We are currently a bankrupt nation. We are a nation in turmoil,” he added.
