Donald Trump says White House staff had to convince President Biden not to broadcast a pre-recorded message following Iran’s attacks on Israel.
The former president added that if he had been commander in chief, “this would never have happened” in a number of posts on his Truth Social platform.
Trump said: “Biden officials convinced him not to release his recorded speech on Israel. He will now attempt to do it live.
Another message read: “Biden, on Israel, did not make his “address to the people” LIVE. He recorded it. This is not the time for recorded speeches!!!’
Unconfirmed reports had circulated shortly after news of the Iranian drone attacks that Biden would address the nation live from the Oval Office.

Before his messages about President Biden, Trump posted: “Israel is under attack!”
“This should never have allowed this to happen. This would never have happened if I were president! »
On Friday, Trump called the president “pretty pathetic” and reiterated his view that Iran would not attack Israel if he remained in power.
He was referring to the president’s remarks that an Iranian attack on Israel was imminent.
Trump added: “for the president of our country to issue a warning that he thinks we’re going to be attacked or they’re going to be attacked.”
“It’s quite pathetic. This is a very dangerous time for our country and one of the main reasons it is dangerous is because we have a president who is blatantly incompetent.
Shortly after news of attacks on Israel by Iranian forces broke, President Biden was rushed back to the White House from Delaware.
In a message to X, he said: “I just met with my national security team to provide an update on Iran’s attacks on Israel.
“Our commitment to Israel’s security against threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad.”
On Friday, Trump attacked Biden again for his remarks about the attacks – calling him “pathetic.”

Iran launched the drones Saturday afternoon Eastern Standard Time and began entering Israeli airspace.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said via state media that it had attacked targets in Israel with “dozens of drones and missiles.”
A video shared with DailyMail.com shows the missiles intercepted by the Iron Dome system above Jerusalem, in the east of the country.
Sources in the US Congress say the amphibious warship Bataan is leading a US naval task force in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Bataan has two support ships and together they have approximately 2,500 Marines on board.
The United States also has several guided-missile destroyers, including the Carney, in the region. A US security source told CNN the bombardment could last for hours.
Iran had threatened to retaliate against Israel following an attack in Syria, which Tehran said was an Israeli airstrike on an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has promised revenge following the attack on Damascus, for which Tel Aviv has not yet taken responsibility.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to respond with force to any attack by Iran, leaving tensions high in the Middle East.
