Former President Donald Trump said Monday he would “love” to see the family of Ruby Garcia – the 25-year-old woman allegedly killed by her illegal immigrant boyfriend in Michigan – at his Tuesday rally in the Mitten State.

“I would love to have his family there if they want to be there,” Trump said in an interview with Detroit radio host Justin Barclay.

Garcia, of Grand Rapids, was found dead along a highway with multiple gunshot wounds to the head on March 22. Brandon Ortiz-Vite, 25, later confessed to shooting Garcia in his car, turning himself in to police with blood on his clothes, according to local reports.

Ortiz-Vite said he shot Garcia after they argued, then took her body out of the car and drove away, according to local reports citing court documents.

Ortiz-Vite — who was romantically involved with Garcia — was in the United States illegally and was deported in 2020 after illegally crossing the border into Mexico, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson told the Post (ICE).

“Brandon Ortiz-Vite, a 25-year-old Mexican citizen, initially entered the United States illegally and was approved for deferred action under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program . His status under DACA expired on May 10, 2019. Upon his arrest on local charges on August 30, 2020, he was found inadmissible under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA),” a said the ICE representative.

It continues: “Ortiz-Vite was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Detroit on August 31, 2020 and served a summons. He was deported by an immigration judge in the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) on September 24, 2020, and was deported to Mexico on September 29, 2020.”

“At an unknown date and location, Ortiz-Vite re-entered the United States without inspection by an immigration officer.”

Ortiz-Vite was charged in Kent County with murder, open murder, carjacking, carrying a concealed weapon and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Garcia’s family and friends gathered Friday for his funeral.

“Ruby’s love of plants and travel had nothing to do with her affectionate smile that lit up the room or her infectious laugh that recreated the atmosphere,” her obituary read. “She cared deeply about the people around her, so kind and passionate. She has impacted many lives. We will forever miss her. »

Garcia’s family did not respond to a request from The Post.

Trump’s campaign has ramped up its messaging for 2024 to focus on immigration in battleground states. The 45th president will visit Michigan and Wisconsin, two states the 77-year-old narrowly won in 2016 and narrowly lost in 2020, in a bid to sway voters on his border policies.
