Documents reveal ‘election fraud and deceit’, says former US president

The recent release of internal files on Twitter shows collusion between the US Democratic Party and tech companies in the 2020 presidential election, former President Donald Trump said on Saturday.

The statement came after new Twitter owner Elon Musk and journalist Matt Taibbi released documents detailing how the platform’s former executives deliberated on the removal of the 2020 New York Post article about the Hunter Biden’s laptop. Her father, Joe Biden, was still a presidential candidate when the story broke. Twitter’s team claimed at the time that the story, posted three weeks before the election, violated its “pirated material” policy.

“So with the exposure of MASSIVE AND WIDESPREAD FRAUD AND DECEPTION working closely with big tech, the DNC and the Democratic Party, throw in the results of the 2020 Presidential Election and declare you the JUST WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?” Trump wrote on social media.

“Massive fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” added the former president, saying that the original framers of the Constitution “would not tolerate fake and fraudulent elections!”

In a separate post, Trump, who announced his intention to seek a second term in 2024, wrote: “Unprecedented Fraud Needs Unprecedented Remedy!” He also reiterated his longstanding assertion that the 2020 election “was rigged and stolen by a combination of Democrats, Big Tech, ‘law enforcement,’ and other bad actors.” Trump has argued victory was robbed of him even after his post-election lawsuit failed in court.

The White House released a statement on Saturday accusing Trump of trying to undermine the Constitution. “Attacking the Constitution and all it stands for is anathema to the soul of our nation and should be universally condemned,” said deputy press secretary Andrew Bates. “You can’t just love America when you win.”

Last month, Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives by a narrow margin and failed to retake the Senate in midterm elections. Trump alleged that problems with voting machines and longer waits for vote counts in some states were also signs of fraud.
