“I have a good relationship with all of them,” Trump continued. “That’s a good thing. You know, the press often says, ‘He gets along with Kim Jong-un. North Korea has a lot of nuclear weapons.’ I get along with them very well. You’ve never been in danger with me as president. That’s a good thing to get along with, not a bad thing.”

Trump then joked that to combat Kim Jong-un’s obsession with nuclear weapons, he had proposed a hypothetical baseball outing featuring the New York Yankees.

“I said, ‘Why don’t you do something else? All he wants to do is buy nuclear weapons and build them.’ I said, ‘Relax. Calm down. You’ve had enough. You’ve got so many nuclear weapons, so many.’ I said, ‘Relax, go see a good baseball game.’ I’ll show you what a baseball game is. The unlikely invitation comes amid a tough two weeks for the Yankees. New York has lost 19 of its last 28 games, including a 9-1 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday.

The Yankees will face the Rays on Sunday in Game 3 of their four-game series.
