Trump moves to draw several national security officials: AP sources

Washington (AP) – President Donald Trump has moved to dismiss several senior officials of the National Security Council of the White House shortly after being invited by the far -right activist, Laura Loomer, to serve the staff members whom she considered insufficiently engaged in her Make America Grand program, said several people familiar with the issue on Thursday.

Loomer presented his research to Trump at an oval office meeting on Wednesday, proving himself for layoffs, people said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive staff. Vice-president JD Vance, chief of staff Susie Wiles, the national security advisor Mike Waltz and Serio Gor, director of the presidential staff office, participated in the meeting, the people said.

NSC spokesperson Brian Hughes refused to comment on the meeting or the layoffs, insisting that the White House does not discuss staff issues.

Loomer, who has promoted conspiracy theories of September 11, was a frequent presence on the campaign campaign during the Trump’s successful race in 2024. More recently, she spoke on the social networks of certain members of the national security team of Trump which she insists that one cannot trust.

Trump’s decision to push the staff comes at a time when his national security advisor Mike Waltz retreates on the use of the encrypted signal application accessible to the public to discuss the planning of the sensitive military operation of March 15 targeting Houthi activists in Yemen.

A journalist, Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic magazine, was wrongly added to the channel and revealed that the Trump team had used it to discuss the precise timing of the operation, the planes used to make the strikes and more.

Waltz took responsibility for building the text chain, but said he didn’t know how Goldberg ended up being included.
