The Penske team drove to Washington DC Wednesday with Roger Penske bringing several of his drivers and racing cars of three different divisions to the White House lawn. Nascar, Indycar and IMSA were all presented because Penske was celebrated for his recent triumphs.
The champions of the NASCAR Cup series 2023 and 2024, Ryan Blaney, and his teammate Joey Logano were both present, as well as Logano’s No. 22, Penske Ford Mustang. The double and defending the winner of Indianapolis 500, Josef Newgarden, was there, standing near his Penske Chevrolet n ° 2.. In addition, the winning program of the 2025 Rolex 24 Hours in Daytona – Nick Tandy, Felipe Nasr and Laurens Vanthoor – were present with their n ° 7 Perske Porsche 963 GTP.
Nascar’s commissioner, Steve Phelps and the president of Nascar, Steve O’Donnell, were also one of the people present, just like Mark Miles, CEO of Indycar and Penske Entertainment. The Penske group met Trump in the oval office, taking photos before going out to discover racing cars.
President Trump, who attended Daytona 500 of this year and punctuated the field in the presidential motorcycle, congratulated Roger Penske for his many achievements in motorsport. He then read from a piece of paper the names of the drivers and their recent achievements, asking for both Blaney and Newgarden how fast they can go.

Trump Assistant at the Indy 500?
Trump then referred to the possibility of attending the 109th series of Indianapolis 500 in May. “I’m going to have to get there … Maybe this year, with you,” said Trump. Penske replied by saying that he had an “open invitation”.
However, the visit quickly became less to honor the champions of the race and more to hold an impromptu press conference. The president answered the media questions for about 15 minutes, speaking of the chaotic tariff situation which caused a whip on the world markets while the runners stood in the background. He finally broke the questions and answers to go and talk with Newgarden and shake hands with the other pilots and team members present as the event ended.
