Trump Media auditor accused by SEC of ‘massive fraud’ and permanently barred from public company audits

The audit firm for Trump Media and the auditor’s owner were charged with “massive fraud” by the Securities and Exchange Commission for work that affected more than 1,500 SEC filings, the federal regulator announced Friday.

The auditor, BF Borgers CPA, and its owner Benjamin Borgers have agreed to be permanently suspended from practicing accounting with the SEC, and have also agreed to pay a total of $14 million in sanctions. civil rights, the SEC said.

The stock price of Trump Media, owner of the Truth Social app, was down 9% shortly after trading began Friday.
