Trump Juror Resigns Over Fear of Exposure After Fox News Host Points Finger at Her

By the end of Tuesday, seven jurors had been selected to determine whether Donald Trump should be the first president ever convicted of a crime. Thursday morning, when the Manhattan trial resumed, there were only six.

According to Judge Juan Merchan, the juror was excused after expressing doubts about her ability to remain fair and impartial. In particular, she said her friends and family had already asked her if she was on the jury.

The calls came after media reports potentially identified biographical information about the woman, including her job and the neighborhood in which she lived. Like Aaron Blake of the Washington Post noteshe was singled out on a Fox News show Tuesday night, with host Jesse Waters saying, “I’m not so sure about Juror No. 2.”

Watters “succeeded in having a juror removed from the case by going out of his way to reveal his identity,” attorney Bradley Moss argued.

Watters alleged without evidence that “liberal activists” were lying to get on the jury, a claim that Trump himself repeated on Truth Social, potentially violating an order of silence.

Jury selection continues Thursday. Trump faces charges that he falsified business records to conceal a hush-money payment and affair with Stormy Daniels to illegally influence the 2016 election. He has pleaded not guilty.

Judge Merchan implored journalists to be more careful in the future, asking them to use “common sense” before reporting jurors’ biographical information, NBC News reported.

“Jurors are real people with families, lives and jobs,” tweeted former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti. “If a juror has come forward and vocally expressed concern about their safety, that concern is likely on the minds of *other* jurors. Their safety must be ensured for our legal system to function.”
