Trump Jr. Says He Wants a ‘Fighter’ Like Carlson, Ramaswamy As Dad’s VP

  • Donald Trump Jr. said he was pushing for his father to choose a “fighter” as his vice presidential candidate.
  • He said he suggested people like Tucker Carlson, Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. JD Vance.
  • Donald Trump still doesn’t know who his vice presidential pick will be, according to reports.

Donald Trump Jr. said he was pressuring his father to choose a “fighter” like Tucker Carlson or Vivek Ramaswamy as his running mate.

“What I want in this role is a fighter,” Trump Jr. told the New York Post. “I understand what they’re going to throw at us.”

“The vicious nature of the swamp and the madness that we see on a daily basis, you need someone who can take those hits,” he said.

Trump Jr. said he pushed candidates like Sen. JD Vance, former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and right-wing former Fox TV host Tucker Carlson.

Trump Jr., filmed answering questions from reporters in a video published by the New York Post, said he “would love to see Tucker Carlson take on Kamala Harris; that would be fun.”

He added that he plans to play a “very active” role on the 2024 presidential transition team if his father is re-elected.

Trump Jr. is a key surrogate for his father on the campaign trail, often appearing at events and granting media interviews on his behalf.

However, it is unclear how much influence he actually has over his father’s decision-making.

Dean Trump, now officially the Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election, still does not know who he will choose as his running mate.

Multiple reports indicate that Trump is still evaluating numerous candidates and has a long list of options, with the front-runner likely to change.

Trump indicated behind closed doors that he would reveal his vice presidential pick in early summer, before the Republican convention, sources told CNN.
