Donald Trump’s online store sells clothes sporting “Trump 2028”, the year of the next American presidential election, in which the Republican is constitutionally prohibited to run.
The 78 -year -old man, who saw his notation of approval in recent opinion polls, has not excluded a third term – although most spectators consider this very improbable.
A social media account linked to Trump shared a photo Thursday by his son Eric sporting one of the new red caps, at a price of $ 50.
“Make a statement with this hat made in America Trump 2028,” said a product description on the Trump store website.
The shop also sells t-shirts in the navy and red, at a price of $ 36, which said “Trump 2028 (rewrite the rules)”. It comes when Trump sees a drop in popularity as 100 days approached in his second White House term.
Opinion polls have shown that the Americans expressed their concern about the billionaire management of key issues, including the cost of living, as well as its chaotic tariff policies.
The 22nd amendment of the American Constitution stipulates that “no one will be elected to the president’s office more than twice”.
Trump, who was also president from 2017 to 2021, insisted that he “does not like” about a third term, saying that last month, there are “methods” that would allow this to happen.
Any serious effort to modify the founding document would send the United States into an unexplored territory. Changing the American Constitution to authorize a third presidential term would require a majority of two thirds in the House of Representatives and in the Senate. An amendment would also require a ratification of at least 38 of the 50 American states, another slim possibility.
