The Trump campaign said Friday it nearly doubled its fundraising record in a single day after a New York jury found Donald Trump guilty in his hush money criminal trial.

The campaign said it raised $34.8 million from small donors following Thursday afternoon’s historic verdict, in which Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Nearly 30% of those donors were new to the Trump donation site WinRed, senior campaign advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a press release.

Top aides echoed Trump’s promise after the trial that the “real verdict” would come on Election Day, November 5.

Trump is all but guaranteed to enter this contest as the first former U.S. president and first major party candidate to be convicted of crimes.
