Trump campaign donations page crashes after guilty verdict

Former President Trump’s fundraising page crashed shortly after he was convicted on 34 counts by a New York jury, a problem his campaign blamed on an influx of donations.

“The American people see through Joe Biden’s rigged trial,” Trump’s campaign posted on the social platform been closed. We are working to bring the site back online as quickly as possible.

The Trump campaign website redirected visitors to WinRed, the official GOP fundraising site. But the page intended to donate to the former president indicated that it was under maintenance. The campaign was briefly redirected to another donation processor due to technical difficulties.

Trump campaign co-manager Chris LaCivita urged his supporters to “log back in and try again” if they received an error message.

The former president made a habit of turning his legal problems into campaign arguments to raise funds. He used his mugshot after his indictment in Georgia last year to bring in millions of dollars in campaign cash, and his campaign is expected to try to capitalize on outrage over Thursday’s verdict.

Trump was found guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records, making him the first former president to be convicted of a crime.

The jury, made up of 12 people, returned its verdict Thursday afternoon, after approximately 11 hours of deliberations.

Trump has denied the affair and pleaded not guilty. He is expected to appeal the verdict.
