US President Donald Trump Signed a proclamation prohibiting all the trips of certain countries.
The restricted proclamation and fully limits the entry of nationals in 12 countries: AfghanistanChad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, HaitiIran, Libya, MyanmarSomalia, Sudan And Yemen said the White House.
The ban will take effect at 12:01 p.m. Monday, Washington time (04:01 UST), press agencies reported.
Visitors to the United States of Burundi, CubaLaos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela Also will face increased restrictions.
“I have to act to protect national security and the national interest of the United States and its people,” said Trump in his proclamation.
“Some of the named countries have inadequate screening and verification processes, which hinders America’s ability to identify potential security threats before entry”, an information sheet published by the White House states.
Other countries “have high over-vision rates on visa” or do not cooperate in the sharing of identity and threat information, he adds.
Trump also implemented several bans to travel for some countries during his first mandate as President.
His first ban in 2017 targeted seven mainly Muslim countries for 90 days.
Subsequent prohibitions included Myanmar, Eritrea, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Nigeria, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Venezuela and Yemen. These are Raised by former American president Joe Biden in 2021.
