McCallen, Texas-Migrants who have been temporarily authorized to live in the United States using an online meeting application from the Biden era were invited to leave the country “immediately”, officials announced on Monday. We did not know how many beneficiaries would be affected.
More than 900,000 people have been authorized in the country using the CBP One application since January 2023. They were generally authorized to stay in the United States for two years with authorization to work under presidential authority called parole.
“The cancellation of these words is a promise held to the American people to secure our borders and to protect national security,” said the media business unit of the Ministry of Internal Security in response to questions.
Authorities have confirmed that dismissal opinions have been sent to CBP a beneficiary but have not said how much. They were invited to self-separate volunteers using the same application as they participated, which was renamed CBP Home.
“It is time for you to abandon the United States,” the Hondurienne family who entered the United States at the end of last year. The Associated Press examined the email received on Sunday.
Others have shared the same email on social media platforms.
Al Ostro Lado, a non -profit organization that provides legal aid to migrants, said that some who have received the letters of revocation come from Honduras, Salvador and Mexico.
CBP One was a cornerstone of the Biden administration strategy to create and extend the legal paths to enter the United States to try to discourage illegal border crossings. At the end of December, 936,500 people were allowed to enter with CBP an appointment on the border with Mexico. President Donald Trump put an end to CBP One for new entrants during his first day in power, failing thousands in Mexico who had appointments in early February.
Trump ended and revoked temporary status for many of those who have benefited from Biden’s policies. Homeland Security said on Monday that the use by Biden of the authority of parole – more than any president since its creation in 1952 – “has further fueled the worst border crisis in American history.”
Homeland Security said last month that he revoked another form of parole for 532,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela who flew to the country at their expense with a financial sponsor. It ends on April 24.
The Trump administration also announced the end of the temporary protected status of 600,000 Venezuelans and around 500.00 Haitians, although a federal judge temporarily suspended this, especially for around 350,000 venezuelans who were to lose TPS on Monday. TPS is granted by 18 months’ increments to people already in the United States whose countries are deemed dangerous for return due to a natural disaster or civil conflict.
