Totals of strong precipitation of 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 centimeters), with quantities of up to 6 inches (15 centimeters) in limited areas, are possible in parts of the Mexican states of Guerrero, Michoacan, Colima and Jalisco on Monday. Precipitation can lead to floods and mud shifts.
The swelling affecting parts of the southwest coast of Mexico in the coming days can produce potentially fatal surfing conditions, the center of hurricanes said.
The maximum sustained winds were close to 45 MPH (75 km / h) with higher gusts. The storm should strengthen in a hurricane on Monday.
