Trigger warning: Netflix’s latest blockbuster film continues streak of unwanted criticism for Jessica Alba

Fans and Critics Tear Netflix’s Latest Hit Movie Trigger warning.

The film, which arrived on Netflix on Friday June 21, went straight to first place in the streamer’s Top 10 films in the United Kingdom.

Trigger warning stars Jessica Alba as Parker, a U.S. special forces commando stationed overseas who is forced to return home when his father is killed.

Parker takes over her family’s bar in her hometown, where she finds herself caught up in a violent conspiracy as she investigates the circumstances of her father’s mysterious death.

Trigger warning is currently the number one film in the UK on Netflix, ahead of Jodie Comer’s drama thriller The end where we begin And 24 hours at Lidl – a documentary behind the scenes of the supermarket chain.

Despite obtaining the coveted first place, Trigger warning is receiving dismal reviews from all quarters, with critics and subscribers alike criticizing the action film.

As noted Screenrant, the film continues Alba’s unenviable streak against Rotten Tomatoes of late. The actor, best known for films such as Dear (2003) and Fantastic Four (2005), has not scored above 45% in either audience or reviews on Rotten Tomato since Stretchable. The 2015 comedy, in which she starred alongside Chris Pine and Patrick Wilson, was generally well received.

Three Alba films in the last 10 years – Barely mortal, A kind of beautifulAnd Anonymous killers – had Rotten Tomato scores below 30 percent. The latter earned a critic score of 0 percent based on nine reviews, and an audience score of 16 percent based on over 100 ratings.

Unfortunately, however, Trigger warning will do little to remedy the problem since Alba’s latest film only earned a 25 percent rating based on 20 reviews. It achieved an even lower audience score of 19 percent.

Writing on X/Twitter, a Netflix subscriber said: “Trigger warning is one of the most boring films I’ve seen all year, but it’s also by far the stupidest! A movie apparently made to justify Netflix’s ability to watch things at 1.5x speed.

Someone else criticized the film’s writing, calling it “one of the worst scripts (in a long time”).

“I watched Trigger warning on Netflix last night,” a third person said. “I’m a fan of Jessica Alba but this movie is really bad.”

“Top 5 worst movies (sic) of all time,” another agreed. “Total waste of time. This is a criticism. Meanwhile, others praised Alba’s acting ability and action sequences while mocking the film’s plot and writing.

Some criticisms, however, have been less severe than others, with The Guardian giving the film three stars in a review titled: “Jessica Alba Returns in Solid Netflix Action Vehicle.” »

Trigger warning is available to stream now on Netflix.
