Bengals have signed wide receptors Ja’mar Chase and Tee Higgins to contract the extensions of this offseason, but they did not sign the defensive winger Trey Hendrickson to a new agreement and the comments of the executive vice-president Katie Blackburn this week did not do much to suggest that an imminent agreement.
This is the festive line all the offseason that Bengals want to do something with Hendrickson and head coach Zac Taylor reiterated that Monday, but Blackburn said on Tuesday that she did not know if it will happen and kept the possibility of a job on the table. Blackburn also said that “it is up to him to be happy at some point” and that she thinks “he should be happy At some rates, he may not think he would be happy. »»
Hendrickson responded to these comments during an appearance On the program Pat McAfee on Wednesday. Hendrickson described comments as “confusing” because he spoke to the team of a long -term agreement in recent years and it was communicated to him that something would have done this offseason. He also said that Bengal communication was below where he thought it should be.
“It was a bit disappointing because communication has been mediocre in the past two months,” said Hendrickson. “This is something that I hold in high esteem. They did not communicate directly with my agent. This is something that was a little frustrating.”
Hendrickson said that he had no desire to be “best paid or the first online” and that he was “as patient as possible” in conversations with the team, but clearly indicated that he was not looking for “incentives that will be out of my control” or a short -term offer given his desire for a long -term contract which includes guaranteed money.
Blackburn said Bengals had “all the respect for Hendrickson, but Hendrickson said on Wednesday that” actions speak much stronger in a different direction “and he and Bengals could evolve in different directions if they cannot clean the dirty whiteness that was broadcast this week.
