Trent Alexander-Arnold has been pictured signing a Real Madrid shirt amid speculation of a summer transfer.

The Liverpool right-back has been linked with a move to the Spanish giants as he enters the final year of his contract at Anfield.

talkSPORT understands the Reds are confident he will sign a new contract and therefore extend his stay at his boyhood club.

However, Alexander-Arnold may have contributed to speculation about what could be a sensational move to Spain while on holiday.

In an image posted on social media, the England international can be seen signing a Real Madrid shirt belonging to a young fan in the United States.

Alexander-Arnold was also seen with Madrid star and Three Lions team-mate Jude Bellingham on a roller coaster at Six Flags theme park in California.

The duo became close friends during their time together in the England camp, including during Euro 2024.

When Bellingham scored the winner against Serbia in the group stage, he and Alexander-Arnold performed the Real Madrid star’s trademark celebration together.

It is clear that they have a strong bond, although it remains to be seen whether they will share the pitch together at the Bernabéu.

New Liverpool boss Arne Slot was recently asked about his confidence in agreeing a new contract for Alexander-Arnold.

“My answer will probably be a little boring,” he replied. “I think it’s the same answer you’ve heard for the last five, six, seven years.

“This contractual situation is not discussed here, but we must continue to try, I would say!”

Alexander-Arnold is one of Liverpool’s most important players and a successful product of their academy.

The 25-year-old has made 310 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and providing 81 assists in all competitions.

During his time in the first team, Alexander-Arnold won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup and Super Cup.

Fans will certainly welcome a new contract but, for now, the prospect of a move to Madrid is still a possibility.
